Sagrona, a traditional italian olive oil from Greve in Chianti
Extra-virgin Olive Oil
This olive-oil is produced right on our traditional italian farm in Greve in Chianti in the Florence area.
Moraiolo and Frantoio are the names of the varieties of olives
cultivated in our olive groves using techniques that exclude the use of weedkillers and insecticides,
employing only organic fertilizers.
The olives are harvested by hand - 'brucate', which means 'stripped' with a sort of comb - from the beginning
of November until the first half of December.
The olives are taken to the olive oil presses within three days of harvesting and are cold-pressed. The oil produced
does not undergo any form of further treatment.
The olive oil is fragrant, with delicate spicy undertones, like all the best italian olive oils.
May we suggest the following uses:
On raw foods: on 'bruschetta', on salads and all other raw vegetables.
It's also excellent on cooked foods: soups, 'minestra', 'ribollita', grilled meats, roasted and boiled
fish, grilled or steamed vegetables.
On cooked foods: recommended for all dishes, roasted or boiled.
